Viva La Frida - The Exhibition

Viva La Frida is an exhibition featuring over 25 Brisbane artists working in a variety of mediums. They have come together united over their mutual love for the wonderful Mexican artist Frida Khalo and have created unique illustrations, jewellery and textiles with a Frida Khalo aesthetic.

Handmade by Danielle from Manx Minx made using salvaged textiles plus new trims & handles.

Gala Fiesta Collection - crucifix, icon and wrap necklets :: bricolaged using authentic vintage Mexican: Milagros (peasant charms), beads and paper ephemera + repurposed wooden tiles and beads, new beads and findings. Made by Helen from Ruby 2 Go Go.

Sam from Jettas Nest has been working on three pieces depicting various yearnings/loves/obsessions of Frida and of course, how could Sam resist her own version of Frida's stunning face.
